Plant People Northwest is a small, sustainable landscaping company. Our service area includes North Seattle, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, and Magnolia. We value a very high quality of work and client communication. We also value the job happiness and satisfaction of the crew! We seek a gardener to join our year-round crew, either part time (minimum 3 days/week) or full time. You must have a reliable vehicle for transportation to jobsites.

Your work will include weeding, mulching, planting, pruning, fertilizing and more. We do not mow lawns. You’ll also assist on installation projects from time to time. Part of your job description is to improve your plant ID and horticultural skills every day. If you are curious, passionate, energetic, and eager to learn, you will be the right fit for our team!

We maintain our gardens without the use of toxic chemicals, with a focus on soil health and "right plant, right place". We pride ourselves on skillful pruning and have attended many classes with Plant Amnesty. We use mainly hand tools and only electric power tools. Our design and project team installs plantings, patios, raised beds, microspray irrigation and more.

Basic Qualifications:

Be positive, punctual, detail-oriented, hardworking, and communicative.

Have a passion for horticulture and be ready to learn.

Be able to manage time, prioritize tasks, and keep up a brisk (but not soul-crushing!) pace all day.

Have the stamina to perform long hours of weeding, lifting, etc. in all kinds of weather.

Have a clean driving record, a reliable vehicle for transportation to job sites, and a smartphone for accessing our calendar and other tools.

Fabulous but not required:

Work history showing 1+ years of professional gardening experience

A working knowledge of basic plant ID, horticulture and pruning practices

Experience leading or managing others

Pay and Benefits:

Starting pay is $21-24 depending on level of experience/ horticultural knowledge.

Benefits for part time employees include:

Sick time/ PTO

A yearly stipend for work clothing and tech (after 90 days)

Assistance with continuing ed in the horticulture field

Benefits for full time employees also include:

6 paid holidays

1/2 of health, vision, dental and life insurance (after 90 days)
