Job Purpose:

Network Innovations is currently seeking a Marine Electrician to join its Seattle, WA based team. The successful candidate will be able to commute to the Seattle, Washington area, and will take pleasure in traveling to a variety of ports in North America as well as the occasional international port. They will have prior experience working in the marine industry and will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing new and old technology systems on small fishing boats and large commercial ships.

Duties and responsibilities:

Installs electrical systems and components on new or existing vessels in accordance with, manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints.

Upgrades old electrical systems to modern standards and adds new functionalities and enhanced reliability

Employs test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, etc., to diagnose and repair electrical parts, including motors, relays, switches, transformers, positioning sensors, and other key electrical components.

Conducts regular inspections to ensure electrical systems comply with safety standards, and industry regulations.

Must have standard marine electricians tool kit.

Qualifications:

3+ years of equivalent experience as a Field Electrician with at least one (1) year working on commercial vessels, or in a similar industry.

Strong working knowledge of electrical best practices and electrical safety standards.

Strong working knowledge of shipboard electrical systems.

Proficiency with Microsoft office products including Excel, Outlook, etc.

Able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card and military base access within two (2) months of hire.

Must have a clean driving record, valid driver license, and be insurable.

Must have access to reliable transportation.

Must have the ability to travel up to six (6) weeks at a time.

Firm understanding of proper safety procedures (lockout tagout, fall protection, confined spaces) and use of standard safety equipment.

Incumbent must be committed to self-development including lifelong learning, regardless of their formal education.

Working conditions and Physical requirements:

This position has a standard 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday schedule. Depending on customer needs there may be potential for shift rotation and/or on-call requirements. Overtime is often necessary to meet customer driven deadlines.

This position operates onboard commercial steel vessels. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in shipyard environments, onboard commercial fishing vessels, working from heights and in confined spaces for prolonged periods of time.
