Summary: Installs, programs, troubleshoots, repairs, tests, configures, and maintains intrusion detection, access control, VMS, and CCTV systems and associated equipment. The Technician coordinates his/her tasks and activities and may include supervision of subcontractor activities. The Technician can provide quality assurance checks of the work. The Technician loads, configures, and modifies software. Reads and understands blueprints, technical documents, project instructions, and company forms. Installs conduit, terminates panels and devices. The Technician plans the installation by surveying and evaluating locations, identifying requirements, laying-out equipment according to plans, all while adhering to codes, safe work practices, regulations, and standards.

Competency: Preferred experience in the following Security/Access/CCTV product lines: Monitor Dynamics (MDI), Hirsch Velocity, Software House, Vindicator, DAQ, Lenel, Galaxy, AMAG, Facility Commander, Gallagher, Milestone, Axis, Pelco, Bosch, Honeywell.

Travels as necessary, with flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or on-call as required.

Well organized, self-starter, capable of functioning with (Minimal or No) supervision.

Education/Experience:

WA EL06 Journeyman (preferred)

WA EL06 Electrical Trainee

5 years relevant field experience; OR equivalent combination of education and field experience

Access Control Experience

Network Video Experience

Network Configuration Experience

Hands-on experience with electronics and/or network topologies is required

Working knowledge of basic electronics and electricity

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Must be able to use standard test equipment including multi-meters

Must have low voltage wiring and connection experience

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus

Fiber Optic and Data termination a plus

NICET Certification and knowledge a plus

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Positive attitude and professional customer relation skills required

Preferred experience with fiber, panel and device termination

Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills

Preferred Associate's Engineering or Electronics degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with a certificate in Electronics or related field

Training/Certification Needs:

Milestone XProtect Experience/Certification

Lenel OnGuard Experience/Certification

Additional Requirements:

Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record (less than 3 moving violations, no DUI or suspensions in past 5 years). Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and full Security Background check. Must be able to attain/hold a SECRET Security Clearance.
