Self-sufficient experienced diesel mechanic needed for mobile service. Employee will be placed in a mobile service truck and be responsible for multiple fleet customers in addition to service calls. Must be able to diagnose problems with run ability of trucks and equipment. Job Requirements:Accurately diagnose and repair all parts and components on class 5 through class 8 trucks and trailing equipment in a quality fashion including but not limited to the following:Perform front line mechanic inspections, preventive maintenance services and DOT inspections on both diesel and gasoline vehicles as well as trailersDiagnose and repair air and hydraulic brake systems, suspension, and steering componentsDiagnose and repair starting and charging system componentsDiagnose, repair, and replace drive train components including engines, transmissions, clutches, drivelines, and differentialsDiagnose and repair air conditioning systems including compressors, valves, condensers, and evaporatorsUtilize diagnostic tools including laptops, scanners, wiring diagrams and measuring tools including a caliperDiagnose and repair electrical and lighting systems, ABS systems, tire and brake monitoring systems, engine, body and transmission electronicsPerform welding and fabrication with steel, stainless steel, and aluminumPerform minor repairs on semi-trailers and truck cargo boxes including roll up and swing door repairs, tire replacement, brake repairs, suspension repairs, electrical systems and repair panels, roofs and frame railsRespond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requestedBe able to work some overtime as neededAbility to take after hours/weekend service calls on a rotational basis as neededWork closely with and assist other mechanics on specified tasks as neededOperate Company vehicles in accordance with local, state, federal and Company policy and safe driving practicesMaintain service truck to keep in good working order, keep interior and exterior clean, keep tools and supplies in an organized mannerOrder parts from vendors to complete specific repairs along with ordering stock parts within the Company system to maintain stock levels on service truckPerform occasional facility maintenance for the Company and/or customer’s facilitiesPerform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Area Fleet Manager or Maintenance CoordinatorThoroughly, timely, neatly and accurately document vehicle repairs and maintenance including a complete accounting of all labor hours, parts and materials used through maintenance software and daily worksheets.Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with all fleet, customer, and operations personnelDisplay professional conduct with customers, co-workers, outside suppliers and contactsConduct daily communications with assigned fleet customers on schedule repairs and equipment statusMaintain safe and clean work areaTake responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practicesAdhere to Company and OSHA safety guidelinesOperate a forklift as needed to perform repairs and move heavy parts Qualifications:3 to 5 years of relevant experience or combination of school and experienceValid Driver’s license and good driving record requiredCDL preferred but not requiredPass a criminal history background screen as required by our customer baseBe able to lift and install all parts required to perform the job including heavier parts such as brake drums, tires, flywheels, clutches, starters, suspension spring packs, etc. Benefits include:medical, health savings plan, dental, vision, vacation, sick pay, holiday pay, retirement plan, life insurance, uniforms providedPI256635552 Apply
