Job Summary:
We require the Senior Web Administrator be responsible for our company’s website
maintenance and online presence, which involve website deployment and development, website
security and connectivity, maintenance of the website database, as well as implementation of
website upgrades and patches. The specific core duties are as follows:
- Build and maintain code and server infrastructure for other developers to help create many of
the website’s functions and design which contribute to the website’s appearance and usability,
keep website secure, functional, and connected to the site’s web server
- Keep website updated, patched, and configured properly
- Maintain and secure the website database including erasing, adding, or modifying data stored
on the database, reviewing website data for integrity and relevancy, and removing old or
unnecessary data from the database to minimize entry points for hackers and viruses
- Improve website security through overseeing website security upgrades, implementing
security protocols, and monitor security breaches and cyber-attacks such as DDOS and
reporting any breaches to cybersecurity experts for review
- Setup monitoring and tracking of website usage for performance, crash and error metrics, and
potential attackers
- Work on and maintain disaster recovery plan that backs up important data and documents in
case of major system failures
- Maintain and improve existing security measures such as adding service to service encryption,
setting up VPN to limit access to internal web tools, etc.
- Work with UX designers and product managers to define the requirements, and decide proper
web applications accordingly
- Identify and address issues such as bugs and errors users encountered through performing
testing and quality assurance of website and web applications
- Recommend solutions such to scaling service to maintain website availability and scalability
as the company grows and demand changes
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in network administration, computer science
or closely related field of study.
Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in developing web applications by utilizing modern network
security principles and architectures through working in occupations related to network
administration, computer science, or closely related fields, specifically:
- Experience in building scalable applications
- Experience in modern tech stacks such as GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript
- Experience in various AWS services
- Experience in working with cloud applications
- Experience in microservice architecture and networking
