Growing property management company is recruiting for a Junior Staff Accountant to fill a key support role to the Director of Accounting and Finance. Under general supervision from the Director of Accounting, the Junior Staff Accountant assists in all accounting functions and is responsible for providing financial information by maintain and reconciling accounts and preparing reports.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Maintains financial records for companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.

•Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.

•Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.

•Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.

•Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.

•Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.

•Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.

•Maintains vendor directories and manages vendor compliance software platform

•Reviews accuracy of IRS form 1099 reporting and files timely.

•Maintains user directories in various software platforms for Summerfield employees

•Reconciles and files city, county, and state tax filings – B&O, Excise, Personal Property, Property Tax

•Completes treasury management tasks related to intercompany transactions and client escrow accounts.

•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

•Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

•General Math Skills

•Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.

•Accrual Accounting

•Deadline/Detail Oriented

•Financial Reporting

•SFAS Rules

•GAAP

•Two years of recent Quick Books Desktop experience

•Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

•Emphasis on Outlook Calendar

•Emphasis on Excel Data Tools, Functions, Macros, and Charting/Graphing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Property, Construction, or Real Estate Accounting

•Yardi, AvidxChange, NetVendor, Rent Café, Resource Management Inc, On-site, and/or Last Pass experience

•Quick Books administrator experience

•Data import, export, API, interface, and integration experience
