Experienced Phone Repair Technician & Retail Sales Associate (Full Time)

We will begin offering repairs in-store and need an experienced repair tech to work and train new techs. This is a new shop so when not busy with repairs the employee will work on the retail side of the store.
WeConnect Wireless is seeking a skilled, patient, and customer-focused Phone Repair Technician to join our team. This is a full-time, in-store position that combines device repair, phone activation, and retail sales.
We take pride in helping every customer — whether they’re coming in for a cracked screen, a new phone activation, or a service plan question. Our store serves a diverse community, and while customers can sometimes be challenging, we stay focused on providing respectful, solution-oriented service every time.
About the Role
You’ll repair a wide range of devices — from smartphones and tablets to laptops and gaming systems — while also helping customers activate new phones, set up service, and choose the right products. Success in this role means balancing technical skill with strong people skills and a genuine desire to help others.
Key Responsibilities
-Diagnose, repair and refubish phones and tablets
-Perform screen replacements, charging port repairs, battery swaps, glass refurbishing and other repairs
-Assist customers with new phone activations, SIM setup, Lifeline enrollments, and prepaid plans
-Deliver excellent customer service — even when situations are stressful or customers are upset
-Educate customers about devices, accessories, and service options to ensure satisfaction
-Maintain a positive, professional attitude in all interactions
-Keep the workspace clean, organized, and efficient
-Manage inventory and assist with ordering parts and supplies
-Stay up to date on new devices, tools, and repair techniques
-Help train and support other team members when needed
Qualifications
-Technical training or certifications preferred but hands on experience may substitute for official training programs
-Experience repairing smartphones & tablets
-Excellent customer service and communication skills — must be calm, patient, and professional under pressure
-Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, and POS systems)
-Retail or wireless sales experience preferred
-Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
-Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Requirements
-Level 2 Technician Experience or greater
-Familiarity with device unlocking, IMEI tools, or diagnostic software
-Understanding of inventory control and vendor ordering systems
