Lake City Engineering, Inc. is looking for qualified applicants for a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor or Land Surveyor-In-Training position. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Boundary and topographic surveys
- Minor and major subdivisions and submittals
- Construction staking for water, sewer, dry utilities, roads, grading, etc.
- Manage and coordinate with survey crews
- FEMA Elevation Certificates and LOMAs
- Establish control networks
- Marking / setting property lines and corners
- Drone / aerial surveys
- ALTA surveys
Applicants are required to possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- PLS license or LSIT certificate (with a plan to acquire PLS)
- Proficient with Topcon GPS and total stations
- Software program knowledge – Topcon MAGNET, Civil3D, Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge and understanding of field procedures for boundary / topographic surveys
- Effective daily communication with Survey Crew and contractors while on site
- Accurate recording and maintenance of office notes for multiple projects
- How to review and understand Construction Drawings and Specifications
- Ensure proper use, maintenance and calibration of survey equipment
- Daily electronic file transfers to Survey Crew as needed
- Communication with office staff via email
- Ability to complete field to finish surveying
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Valid driver’s license
