James A. Sewell and Associates, LLC, a multidisciplinary surveying, engineering and land use planning company located in Sandpoint, Idaho is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor.

The successful applicant will be responsible for directing and maintaining the survey department in the Sandpoint, Idaho office. They will oversee all aspects of surveying, coordinate and manage projects with clients and public agency staff, and with other, in-house disciplines. They will manage billing, scheduling, hiring, and employee evaluation. They will oversee mentoring and training, and they will maintain established standards and protocols.

Certification: Licensed in Idaho and Washington or licensed in another state and able to become licensed via comity in Idaho and Washington.

Preferred Experience: A minimum of five years in a responsible chargeĀ position as defined in state surveying law and a minimum of five years in a supervisory or management position. These positions may overlap.

The successful applicant will be proficient in, or be able to become proficient in, the following, along with other surveying skills as needed:

- Boundary, cadastral, and right-of-way and route surveying: analysis/reconciliation of field data, boundary determination, research, plats, records of survey, legal descriptions, etc.

- Prepare maps for plats, A.L.T.A. surveys, records of survey, etc.

- Interpret legal descriptions and title documents.

- Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits.

- Construction surveying: bridges, structures, highway construction, subdivision development, industrial development.

- Topographical surveying: digital terrain modeling (DTM), cross sections and volume calculations.

- Survey project management: boundary and topographic mapping, construction, subdivision platting, site development, right-of-way projects, etc.

- FEMA elevation certificates, LOMA, LOMR-F. Development permitting.

- AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and calculations.

- The use of Topcon surveying equipment and data collection systems.

- Microsoft Office software products.
