Madeleine's, a cafe and bakery specializing in breakfast and lunch, and located downtown, is now hiring for the full-time position of lead cook/kitchen manager, and also, a line and prep cook. A qualified applicant for the lead cooking position should have a minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen, and be a true culinarian. Duties will include daily line work for breakfast and lunch, working all stations, daily prep, writing menu specials, and developing fresh menu items for our case, maintaining health code standards, and managing the ordering. We are a "from scratch" kitchen, and work together with our bakers to ensure that our product is always fresh and delicious. Efficient knife skills, experience cooking eggs on a breakfast line, proper knowledge of food handling and safety, and the ability to work productively and independently are also necessary requirements. All applicants should be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Requirements for the line/prep cook are, at least one full year experience in a professional kitchen, knowledge of food handling safety, and, the ability to learn fast and work independently.
