The City of Cheney is currently seeking applicants to serve on the Civil Service Commission, a three-member volunteer board.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for appointment, applicants must:
Be a citizen of the United States
Have been a resident of the City of Cheney for at least three years prior to appointment
Be a registered elector of Spokane County
Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor.
About the Civil Service Commission:
The Civil Service Commission ensures fair and impartial treatment for all classified Civil Service employees, which includes all uniformed personnel such as police officers and firefighters. The Commission oversees and ensures that hiring, firing, and promotional decisions within the Civil Service system are conducted with due process and fairness.
Meetings are held monthly as determined by the Civil Service Commission
