The caregiving position I am looking to fill is for my 61 year old sister with cerebral palsy. She is wheel chair bound and heavy assistance is needed for transfers. This would be a live in situation where you would share a 2 bedroom apartment with her. The apartment rent would be paid by my sister. Pay is DOE and is paid by the state of Washington. The job requirements would include but not be limited to:
- bed pan assistance
- bed mobility
- bed bathing
- assistance with hygiene
- meal prep
- house keeping
- administering medication
- dressing
- accompanying to appointments
- wound care
You must have the following certificates
Current NAR
First Aid, CPR, card
Assistance with Medications
Fundamentals of Caring
Nurse Delegation
Home Care Aid credential from the Department of Health
You also must be able to use a Hoyer lift and be willing to continue your education and keep certificates and certifications up to date. This position would also require you to work weekends and take your days off during the week. You must provide references and be able to pass a thorough background check. Must be willing to get a flu vaccine annually. The most important aspect of this position is flexibility.
