JOB DESCRIPTION – SHOP HAND. EVENT & LOGISTICS ASSISTANT

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for working with the Warehouse Manager and assist with gathering and preparing the supplies, products and materials needed for each installer’s specified job order. Responsible for inventory control, stocking duties, and maintenance of the Bath Fitter shop/warehouse. Responsible to assist with all Event Activities, including delivery, maintaining, setting up & tear down of trade show displays at various venues across Eastern and Central Washington and Northern Idaho.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Shop Hand reports to the Operations Manager

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-exempt

Pay: $18-$20 /hr DOE

Duration: Part time with potential for full time. Advancement opportunities available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SHOP HAND – As Needed

Be Onsite to unload shipment – Shipment days and times are going to be given from office staff

Unpack and store all newly arrived goods, maintaining a neat and secure inventory management system.

Unpack and inspect bases, tubs and walls for damages and repack as necessary.

Repackage materials as necessary

Check in each shipment as it arrives, reconciling the packing slip against items actually received. Immediately report any shortages or damage to shipments to office staff.

Check that all materials for upcoming installation are in stock, immediately reporting any shortages or damage to shipments to office staff.

Monitor shop/warehouse inventory to ensure minimum quantities are available;

Advise Manager of inventory needs. Refer to Guidelines for Inventory management.

Ensure that shop is clean and tidy at all times, a thorough sweep inside and outside.

Ensure that trash and recycling is properly stored and prepared for pick up

As required by manager, complete service calls, drop off/pick up materials, act as help on jobs.

EVENT LOGISTICS As needed (Refer to Event Calendar and Dates)

Responsible for logistics for Event Activities, including delivery, setup & tear down of trade show displays at various venues across Eastern and Central WA & North Idaho.

Set up each display in a professional and functional manner to maximize lead generation

Ensure preparedness of equipment/signs for all types of Set ups. Refer to Event Calendar Notes

Realize their role as the personal representative of Bath Fitter® while in uniform and while driving a company vehicle and act accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or GED or equivalent education required.

Experience in support service industry preferred.

Background in warehouse or inventory control preferred.

Experience driving a truck with a trailer.

Experience operating a forklift preferred, but not required.

Must be at least 21.

Valid driver’s license, 5 year’s driving experience, and clean driving record required. Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Reasoning Ability – Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or illustrated form.
