Position Description
The position will act as a support role for producers, especially related to onboarding, availability communication, harvest planning, and software literacy to ensure a smooth experience for selling products through LINC. These activities will directly support community-focused farms, sustainable agriculture, and local economic development in the Inland Northwest.
The Sourcing Manager will report to the Sales Director. The position will work closely with the operations team and other workers at LINC Foods to relay important delivery and sales information from producers.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Product Availability Synthesis (20 hrs/wk)
Creating Purchase Orders for incoming inventory items and tracking product usage
Day-to-day producer confirmations and troubleshooting
Coordinating last minute replacements for order shortages
Checking product listings to ensure accuracy
Season Planning (7 hr/wk average)
Season planning with producers in coordination with the Sales Director
Coordinating value added product development
New Producer Management (3 hrs/wk)
New producer application approval and onboarding
Producer software support
Internal Program Ordering (10 hrs/wk)
Organizing program orders to meet budget and program requirements
Securing product from producers
Placing internal orders in LFM
Preparing necessary paperwork
Other related assignments as necessary.
Skills and Experience:
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
3+ years of relevant work experience
Computer proficiency including the experience managing sales software and Google Suite
COMPETENCIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to act as the primary point of contact with producers
Ability to track and execute projects involving multiple variables
Ability to understand and calculate margins, markups, prices, weights, etc.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and collaborate with remote team members
Ability to adapt to challenges in real-time and problem-solve with teammates, suppliers, and/or customers
Experience educating a diverse set of clientele
Interest in food systems and sustainability
