ABOUT THE POSITION
OpenEye is looking for an experienced Cloud DevOps Engineer. This individual will work primarily with Amazon Web Service (AWS), but also with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, and other cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS providers and services. This position provides the opportunity to oversee, manage, and build key operational aspects while working closely with Developers and Program Managers as part of a team building and maintaining OpenEye cloud-based services. This individual also supports and adheres to the OpenEye Code of Ethics and Business Standards and must pass a background check suitable to the level of access that this position entails.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training related to DevOps
Operations knowledge related to cloud-based and cloud-scale environments, creation, deployment, management
Software Development or Scripting knowledge and skills in one or more of Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Java, Groovy, Ruby, or other languages
General database knowledge and skills: relational and/or NoSQL
Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) along with a solid understanding of DevOps principles and practices
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Big Data related knowledge and skills. e.g. Kafka, Zookeeper, Elastic Search, etc.
Automation & deployment virtualization tools. e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, OpsWorks, Chef, Ansible, etc.
Security and compliance. e.g. OWASP, AWS Config, AWS Inspector, PKI, etc.
Networking. e.g. TPC/IP, VPC, DNS, etc.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK WITH
A multitude of AWS services, GCP, Azure, scripting languages, automation and deployment tools, and other DevOps related tasks.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
Attend Agile meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, etc.)
Design, build and maintain operational layer for OpenEyes cloud-based services
Cloud application deployment lifecycle management
General automation (deployment, remediation, security, compliance, etc.) using scripting and other automation and related operational tools
Designing and executing load tests and simulated operational usage and/or failure scenarios
Work with Product Management, Developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements
Collaborate with other team members on operational related architecture, tasks, and timelines
