JOB SUMMARY: Inland Forest Management Inc., an F & W Forestry services company, is currently accepting resumes for a seasonal forester position in the Inland Northwest area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Forest inventory, timber cruising, timber sale layout, prescribed burning and wildfire suppression
· Some job-site camping required
REQUIREMENTS:
· Three months of field forestry experience in the western United States,
· High level of physical fitness.
LENGTH OF SEASON
· Approximately April (or later if in school) through November, with the opportunity to extend as the individual gains experience. Work time can be adjusted to accommodate school schedule requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Includes the ability to traverse distances over one mile on uneven terrain; work in outdoor forested areas for extended periods in a variety of environmental conditions; occasionally carry 5 to 10 pounds of equipment over longer distances for extended periods of time. Must be able to work independently during a work week and complete tasks in a timely manner. Must have an insurable driving record.
