Primary Function:
The Director of Business Development will manage and balance a portfolio of existing customers with new customers and programs to maximize the potential and profitability of the client. The incumbent will be responsible for seeking out, qualifying, and securing new business, and overall customer management within their assigned regions. This individual may also manage a small group of Independent Representatives within the region to assist in securing new business within the marketplace.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Lead customers through the sales process
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels
Create effective proposals/quotations for prospects and current clients
Analyze market potential and customer value
Coordinate with internal teams on manufacturing, engineering, and quality issues
Drive new program development, quoting, and sampling qualifications
Participate in trade shows and conventions
Establish and implement sales processes for the Vancouver site
Build and maintain strong rapport with the Program Management Team
Manage independent sales representatives
Support Vancouver site in reaching revenue goals
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Business-related field
5-7 years progressive sales experience in electronics industry, preferably EMS
Proven track record in B2B solution selling to OEM accounts
Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers
Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Experience with Salesforce CRM is ideal
Willingness to travel within the primary territory and to manufacturing facilities
Successfully pass a post offer background check and drug screen.
Work Environment:
OFFICE: Standard office environment with normal office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients or suppliers.
