West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications for a Behavioral Health Therapist.
About the Opportunity
The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide direct therapeutic and outreach services to current students through individual and group counseling, as well as programming and workshops during a 12-month period. This position will also serve in an on-call rotation and work with crisis intervention and psychological emergencies.

Wellness programs
What you'll do:
Conduct intakes, evaluations, assessments, consultations, and crisis intervention services to current students
Provides direct individual, couples, and group counseling/psychotherapy to students with diverse presenting issues.
Maintain current documentation and tasks in EMR
Provides consultation to clients and families as well as WVU Tech staff and faulty about general mental health issues.
Completes required documentation and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance (i.e., missed appointments, cancellations, etc.) in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations
Maintain cultural competency when working with diverse populations on campus
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA
Maintain a current WV license to practice (LCSW, LICSW, LPC, etc.) or be eligible for a WV license to practice
Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours/weekend emergency services
Attend center and campus meetings, committee meetings, and other meetings related to the mission of WVU Tech
Work collaboratively with campus partners (Student Life, Academic Affairs and Faculty, Athletics, AmeriCorps VISTA, etc.) to develop, implement and deliver workshops, activities, meetings, and outreach to members of the campus community
Facilitate and support outreach with nonprofit/public sector agencies
Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher required in Counseling, Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or similar field (Master's preferred)
2 Years of Experience:
Working with short-term models of counseling and psychotherapy
Working with young adult populations (18-25)
Working in the areas of addiction and recovery a plus
