Sistersville Logistics Leader


Position Summary:

The Sistersville Logistics Leader will provide direction, leadership and accountability for all warehousing and distribution functions for the Sistersville site. This position will be responsible driving continuous improvement and optimization. This role will be responsible for maintaining a Safe work environment and 100% compliance with all related Plant, State, Federal, and International regulations. The role will lead a team of direct and indirect reports that will drive execution of all logistics activities including managing overall budget, along with continuous improvement and optimization projects, EHS and compliance requirements.



The Friendly WV site is a net exporter of specialty additives for the global chemical and manufacturing sector. The mix of customer and intercompany shipments requires an individual who is well versed in shipping, receiving, warehousing, and transportation. Position also supports logistics needs for the manufacturing site and works with the site manufacturing leadership team.


Job Description:

  • Drive Momentive Culture into Logistics Organization. Lead by example in Momentive Core Values.

  • Drive EHS Culture, and accountable for EHS performance and 100% compliance in all related regulations and requirements.

  • Logistics execution and performance for Sistersville distribution and warehousing .

  • Manage all aspects of logistics operations to external and internal customers

  • Deliver and meet or exceed goals on key metrics and KPI’s.

  • Plan and drive Physical Inventory .

  • Develop and manage the annual operating plan to meet company objectives. Execute to plan and effectively manage outbound and inbound costs while delivering productivity and continuous improvement. Monitor and review success.

  • Budget variable cost productivity improvements, and drive projects to delivery commitments.

  • Responsible for root cause and corrective action plans and execution for site customer complaints. Own overall complaint trend and closure performance. Drive improvements in key areas such as damages, incorrect quantities or product, and customer specific requirements or needs.

  • Develop team members by coaching, directing performance development through use of business performance and personal development goals. Develops and implements training activities directed at team employee competencies and technical skills specific to process improvement and corrective actions.

  • Inventory management in warehousing. Drive reductions in waste and non-valued inventory. Audit and review cycle count process.

  • Plans and maintains regular communication of projects, changes and concerns.

  • Conducts regular meetings to communicate and reinforce priorities with team and management.

  • Must be able to collaborate with internal and external customers domestically and globally and must appreciate and understand cultural differences and regional specific requirements.

  • Drives process improvement initiatives throughout the organization often extending them to suppliers and customers. Collaborating with suppliers and customers in advancements and improvements. Responsive to customer needs proactively and reactively.

  • Collaborates with other functions (e.g., Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Commercial, IT, Finance) to ensure that changes made reflect current specifications and meet needs of internal and external customers .


Additional Details:

  • 10+ years experience in logistics , manufacturing or warehousing operations.

  • Demonstrated experience and success in leading teams

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills resulting in problem definition, resolution, and corrective action including proactive resolution to meet or exceed customer expectation.

  • Experience managing budgets and investment projects

  • Proficiency with SAP and Excel

  • Lean/continuous improvement/six sigma experience

  • Ability to multitas k

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with an attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively at all levels

  • Strong decision and influencing skills

  • Highly motivated and energetic

  • BS/BA Degree in Technical Field required
