Floor Technician Position Summary:

So yes, this is a Floor Technician opportunity. And yes, the working hours Monday to Friday from 4:00pm to 1:00am are likely to be too challenging for some folks. But, you are great at this work and you are looking for an opportunity. Let's say you have reviewed the job listings and you have two choices one is a Floor Technician at the tar factory next to the town's wastewater treatment plant, and the second opportunity is Aleut Federal's opportunity supporting the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Advanced Training Center (ATC), where CBP personnel are prepared for homeland security challenges at the borders and beyond. So which do you choose? I say you want to support even in this small way a crucial national security mission of the ATC!

The Floor Technician is responsible for keeping floors in assigned buildings and facilities clean and orderly. Duties may include performing unscheduled activities, notifying management of servicing needs, and additional cleaning.

Essential Functions:

Perform periodic cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors and shampooing rugs and carpets.

Responsible for mixing water and detergents in containers according to product specifications and preventing floor damage.

Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and / or vacuuming.

Spot cleans or shampoo carpets & strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.

Drives vehicles (vans) for travel to various work sites.

You may have to move equipment and supplies manually or using a hand truck.

Notify the Manager and / or Lead of any significant equipment repairs or additions needed in custodial services.

Informs Manager and / or Lead of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning or maintenance duties.

Wash, dry, and fold rags and towels- all team members are responsible.

Responsible for checking off tasks daily to ensure the area was cleaned and the building was completed.

Represents the company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality.

Performs all other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Experience:

2-3 years experience working as a Floor Technician, though training will also be provided.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Special Requirements:

A valid driving license with an acceptable driving record.

Must be a citizen of the United States and be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
