The Harrison County Public Defender Corporation (15th Judicial Circuit - Clarksburg, WV) has a vacancy for the new position of Parent Resource Navigator (PRN). This position is funded through Title IVe funds and will continue contingent on ongoing funding. The PRN reports directly to the public defender and is employed by the Public Defender Corporation. The PRN is responsible for working with public defender clients charged in Child Abuse/Neglect cases to support the parents in meeting their goals and reunifying with their children where possible. The PRN will communicate, engage, and motivate represented parents towards participation and completion of their case plan, and enhance communication, collaboration, and comprehension between defense attorney and parent. The PRN will also provide supportive information to the represented parent so they will be better equipped to proactively engage in their Child Abuse/Neglect case and reunification process. The PRN will also support and enhance communication between parent and Child Protective Services Worker, Guardian Ad Litem, and any other persons within the case. The PRN will assist the parent in calendaring, scheduling important dates and events, and navigating attendance at events. The PRN will locate and enroll the parent in proper services, attend multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, and court hearings for ongoing support as needed for the benefit of the parent and at the direction of the public defender.
Qualifications:
● Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
● WV Drivers License (Required)
● Reliable transportation and current motor vehicle insurance (Required)
● Licensed Social Worker (Optional)
● Bachelor's Degree (Optional)
Experience
● Work within the Child Welfare System (Optional)
● Life experience within the Child Welfare System, or in Recovery Providers.
