Maintenance Technician at Pierpont Place Apartments
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is a key part of the community's success. This individual is expected to provide exceptional service to the residents along with developing a rapport by being both knowledgeable and friendly. Individual should have strong organizational and communication skills dealing with residents and staff members. Individual must be dependable, self-motivated and have at least, basic mechanical skills. You should also have a positive attitude with a love to problem solve.
Job Description
Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned
Monitor and maintain all building systems
Experience with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems as well as painting, drywall repairs, and general carpentry, must provide own basic tools and tool bag
Complete make-ready process of vacant apartments as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Property Manager
Schedule and complete the "Preventative Maintenance Program"
Render assistance to management on specific maintenance projects
Assist in the monitoring of all work being performed by outside contractors
Responsible for being on-call for emergency maintenance service and lockouts
Complete ground works as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and/or Property Manager which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas to help maintain great curb appeal. Involves outdoor work-winter and summer
Maintain an organized workshop and ensure there is an adequate inventory of maintenance parts and supplies
Compliance with all company, federal, state, and local safety guidelines
Maintain a professional and courteous manner will all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical and consistent manner
Perform other duties as assigned
Position may require heavy lifting, prolonged standing and use of ladders
Qualifications
Valid Driver's License
1-2 years of Maintenance experience
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb and work on ladders, work with arms raised over head, stand/walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend at waist and knees to lift boxes, appliances, furniture, shovel snow, etc.
