Field Engineering Opportunity: As-built Fielding Technician - Regional Travel Required!

Are you an organized, detail-oriented individual with a background in cable, telephone, or outside plant (OSP) infrastructure? We are seeking an As-built Fielding Technician to join our team and help ensure the accuracy of our network mapping and documentation!

This role involves conducting physical walkouts and field data collection across existing plant infrastructure. You will work closely with our engineering and construction teams, making your contribution vital to our network planning and maintenance efforts.

Prior experience in cable, telephone, or outside plant is strongly preferred.

What You'll Be Doing:

As an As-built Fielding Technician, you will be responsible for verifying and documenting physical network infrastructure. This involves regional travel to various sites to perform key data collection tasks, including:

Conducting physical walkouts of existing plant infrastructure.

Collecting location coordinates (Lat/Long) for poles, pedestals, vaults, and accessible active equipment.

Photographing equipment and providing clear photos of misplaced passive devices, EOL locations, and points of entry for buildings.

Measuring and recording footages between poles and pedestals.

Verifying current strand and/or trench routing information.

Identifying and documenting areas or misplaced splitters and DC locations not shown on current customer maps.

Verifying serviceability of provided address lists.

Documenting aerial and underground RF cable routes.

You will also be responsible for identifying rear easements or obstacles and coordinating access.

Key Qualifications:

Prior experience in cable, telephone, or outside plant is highly desired.

Ability to travel regionally is required.

Strong attention to detail for collecting and verifying field data.

Comfortable with physical walkouts and field work.

Ability to work closely with engineering and construction teams.
