Our members in northern West Virginia will be steadily employed for many years working on a new Shell cracker plant. At peak, it looks like the project will employ more than 2,000 electricians.
Elsewhere in the state, contractors are becoming very busy. They are interested in receiving applications from all classifications, including electricians and linemen.
Line contractors want applications from Journeyman linemen, groundmen and apprentices. Projects in need of people include storm damage repair, regular transmission upgrades, and tree trimming-line clearing.
Members receive employer-paid health plans, and depending on the local, they are covered by either defined benefit or defined contribution retirement plans.
We have Residential/Commercial/Industrial Locals in Charleston, Clarksburg, Parkersburg, Huntington and Wheeling. Our Line Local is based in Huntington.
