As a High Voltage Lead Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and operational oversight of all High Voltage (HV) electrical infrastructure across our data centre campus. You will ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of mission-critical power systems that underpin hyperscale digital infrastructure.This is a hands-on technical leadership role where safety, precision, and uptime are paramount.What you’ll doTake technical ownership of all HV electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and distribution networksPlan, coordinate, and execute high voltage switching operations in accordance with approved procedures and safety standardsIssue and manage HV permits and access authorities, ensuring strict compliance with electrical safety requirementsMaintain and enforce HV operational procedures, including switching, isolation, emergency response, and safety protocolsCoordinate planned outages and isolations for maintenance, upgrades, and fault resolutionAct as the key interface with electricity utility providers for supply, outages, and infrastructure coordinationOversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for HV systemsLead fault investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective and preventive actionsReview and approve Method of Procedure (MOP), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), and Safe Work Instructions (SWI)Maintain accurate operational records including switching logs, outage documentation, and compliance recordsSupport commissioning and energisation of new HV infrastructure and expansion projectsProvide escalation support and after-hours technical response for HV incidentsMentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians working around HV systemsEnsure full compliance with electrical safety regulations, industry standards, and internal frameworksContribute to continuous improvement of reliability, safety, and operational performanceWhat you’ll bringStrong expertise in high voltage electrical systems in mission-critical environmentsProven experience performing HV switching operations and managing electrical isolationsDeep knowledge of HV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and power distribution networksStrong understanding of electrical safety regulations, permit systems, and safe work practicesAbility to interpret electrical schematics, single line diagrams, and protection studiesStrong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex electrical faultsExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearlyStrong organisational skills and attention to detail in documentation and proceduresAbility to operate effectively in a high-availability, safety-critical environmentExperience with BMS, SCADA, and power monitoring systemsStrong stakeholder management across internal teams, contractors, and utilities
