Wheel & Sprocket is a growing, nationally-recognized specialty bicycle retailer with a robust brick-and-mortar and online presence. The Sales Manager position is mostly responsible for day-to-day operations at the store level including sales performance, staff scheduling, inventory management and merchandising. The Store Manager reports to the General Manager and is instrumental in managing overall sales and operational excellence. A successful Sales Manager is organized, detail-oriented, creates great energy, and understands Wheel & Sprocket’s mission to share our passion for cycling to make a positive difference in our community.

Job Description

Technical responsibilities

Sales and margin excellence

Be within top 3 sales at store, every month

Drive sales excellence at all levels within store

Scheduling excellence

Setting and adjusting schedules based on budget parameters and needs of the store

Inventory Management

Lead cycle-counting efforts to maintain accurate quantity levels

Pick/pack outgoing transfer items

Communicate with central office on special orders and receiving tasks

Warranty processing

Maintain incomplete sales (layaways)

Store Merchandising

Monitor product assortment and communicate with buyers

Maintain promotional POP placement and organization

Keep displays organized and clean

Personal responsibilities

Strong ability to communicate well with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders

Strong work ethic to get the job done

Possesses a creative eye and attention to detail

Hearing feedback well and making necessary changes

Giving feedback directly and in a candid, honest and effective manner

Be dedicated to continuous improvement of own work and of the business

Have positive attitude and strong sense of integrity

Requirements

3+ years retail/industry, or related, experience ideal

Technology platforms: Google Apps (email, calendar, drive), Ascend RMS

Other Notes

This position is based at an individual store location, but requires the willingness to travel to other locations or off-site events several times per year.
