Reception job duties include: answering phones, client education, weighing dogs, scheduling appointments, ordering food and supplies, holding pets for nail trims, shots, and more.
Assistant job duties include: Assist veterinarians in examining animals to determine the nature of illnesses or injuries. Administer anesthetics during surgery and monitor the effects on animals. Prepare surgical equipment and pass instruments or materials to veterinarians during surgical procedures. Administer medications and immunizations to animals as prescribed by veterinarians. Fill medications, collect and run laboratory specimens, perform routine laboratory tests or diagnostic tests, such as taking x-rays. Clean and maintain kennels, animal holding areas, examination, or operating rooms to control the spread of disease. Clean, maintain, and sterilize instruments or equipment.
Previous experience a plus, but will train the right candidate. Those candidates that are exceptional and/or experienced will be paid more.
