The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to repair and maintain buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures that the workplace remains safe, functional, and presentable by carrying out both preventive maintenance and corrective repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections of buildings, systems, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
Carry out general repairs such as fixing doors, windows, locks, and basic carpentry work.
Assist with minor plumbing tasks, including unclogging drains and repairing leaks.
Handle basic electrical tasks such as replacing light fixtures, switches, and outlets.
Maintain HVAC filters and report heating/cooling issues for service.
Paint and patch walls, ceilings, and other surfaces as needed.
Assemble and move furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and report hazards immediately.
Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
