Summary:
The Driver is a part-time position in which the individual safely transports Salmon’s Meat Products to wholesale accounts of gas stations, grocery stores, mini marts in Northeast Wisconsin. An individual who is a hard-working team player with a high sense of self-motivation and attention to detail will fit well with our Salmon’s Team.
Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work with minimum supervision and well with a small team
Ability to operate a dolly, pallet jack, forklift, automatic and manual truck
Tolerate working in varying cool and warm conditions
Awareness of your work environment to ensure safe work practices
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with a clean record is required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, climbing, bending, lifting and walking
Ability to climb in and out of truck or cooler portion
Work Relationships:
Supervised by the general manager. Works closely and maintains communication with the shipping coordinator, office manager and wholesale receiving individuals.
Duties:
Operate a manual or automatic truck adhering to all safety practices
Transport meat between the family of businesses (Salmon’s, Ebert Enterprises, Homestead Kitchen & Tap)
Follow designated routes and schedules unless provided with other directions
Represent Salmon’s Meat Products in a positive and professional manner, focusing on customer interaction
Deliver correct amount of product at the proper location
Provide a basic understanding of product, weight of product and invoices
Verify inventory of product before going into the store, may need to modify the invoice if needed
Properly handle cash and check payments for certain accounts
Provide feedback of any market findings or customer thoughts to the office at the completion of every route
Recognize and communicate when equipment is malfunctioning
Track and schedule routine maintenance of oil changes, tire replacement, etc.
Follow equipment cleaning procedures
Practice self-management (is on-time, works at a reasonable pace, maintains internal motivation)
Communicate work-related information with appropriate personnel
Identify opportunities for improving work processes
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
Part-time driver shifts are typically 7-9 hours; 2 days a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
