Job Title: Lead Project Engineer – Strategic ProjectsHybrid - Madison, WI Long Term project through 2027 (two-years)
Job Description: Function as company’s Project Engineer for two 100 MW Reciprocating Internal Combustion Engine (RICE) plants planned for execution between now and 2027. As Lead Project Engineer, you will manage the engineering and construction phases of the projects. You will be responsible for facilitating the  internal review of all engineering drawings, technical specifications, and any other technical documents produced by the project Owner’s Engineer (OE), Engineer of Record (EOR), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), builder, or other entity. In this role you act as a final check point between the engineering and the construction of the projects. May be asked to support other generation construction projects as workload permits.
The work will include:During project planning phase, manage the process to develop scope of work sections for Request for Proposals ( RFPs) e.g. OE, EOR, OEM, or builder.Review, or facilitate the review of, project civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical and controls system drawings and specifications.Coordination of engineering drawing reviews with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure new systems meet internal specifications and standards.Manage internal drawing review process to ensure reviews are completed in a timely fashion in order to keep project execution on schedule.Track progress of OE, EOR, OEM, on major project deliverables and hold all parties accountable for delivery, review, and final issue of project drawings and specifications.Confirm all engineering drawings issued for bid or construction are in accordance with project specifications, standards, and goals.Document via meeting notes or logs engineering issue resolution and important design requirement decisions so as to create a thorough record of any deviations in design from internal standards or specifications, and the engineering decision making progress.Facilitate meetings to obtain stakeholder (operations, environmental, gas engineering, electric distribution engineering, grid owner operator, project mgmt./other) feedback on project design to ensure all stakeholder needs are met to the greatest extent possible within project budget and schedule constraints.Work across the multi-disciplined engineering teams to ensure drawings and specifications meet project needs and identify scope gaps.Facilitate meetings and lead discussions utilizing good communication skills to facilitate engineering issues resolution.Travel as needed to meet with project team members, internal and external, for onsite investigative work or in person meetings.During construction respond to Request for Information (RFIs) design changes, and change orders submitted by the General Contractor (GC).During construction and project closing phase review, or facilitate the review of, all final deliverables such as O&M Manuals, As-Built drawings, spare parts lists, and punch list items.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
