The Red Rooster is a music venue on Madison’s east side that focuses on well-crafted food and drinks. We’ve got a fantastic team in place and are seeking a chef/kitchen manager to help shape our food program as we begin our second year of operation. We pride ourselves on having a relaxed and comfortable work-environment with supportive and fun team members. We are open Tuesday - Sunday from 3 pm until about midnight, with food service from 3 pm to 9 pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; 10 pm Friday and Saturday. Sunday service is from 2 pm to 7 pm. Our kitchen has new equipment and there’s a great deal of flexibility when it comes to menu development, food specials/special events, changing food service hours, etc. We’ve got an enthusiastic group of regulars and have routinely had solid crowds of folks who are trying the place for the first time. We are excited for what’s to come as we move forward with a new chef.
Here are some of the responsibilities for this position:
Supervising food preparation and cooking processes
Training kitchen staff
Scheduling kitchen staff shifts
Preparing menus
Coordinating food orders
Maintaining kitchen inventory
Purchasing kitchen equipment and food supplies
Keeping cost reports and proper records
Ensuring pleasant customer experience
Maintaining health and safety standards
Ensuring the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
