SALARY: $20-$23/hour to begin, potential to increase to $24-$25/hour with earned raise (good pay, good boss)
SCHEDULE:
Pick 2 to 5 afternoons and pick 2-4 hours; Work while your kids are in school, be home for dinner
Pick start time 4:00 or 5:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.
9:00 am-3:00 pm every other weekend.
Flexibility in hours when you need it.
ROUTINES:
The afternoon schedule involves any of the following:
help with stretching and strengthening,
light housework,
light cooking and feeding,
driving to some appointments,
positioning pillows for sleep.
Weekends are my “Get a Life/Have a Life” days. Caregiver chooses fun things as long as possible:
Listening to music and sharing stories
Hang out on patio enjoying numerous blooming flowers
Suggest anything you would like!
ABOUT YOU:
you are physically healthy and strong,
you have a valid driver's license and insurance,
you have personal reliable transportation, and,
you prefer long-term commitments.
ABOUT ME:
I am an easy to get along with (most of the time) 69-year-old woman who became quadriplegic 10 years ago. I am mostly paralyzed from the neck down. My brain continues to refuse to accept that I can no longer engage in my pre-injury activities. Luckily, I am happy to do anything involving movement like strengthening and stretching. I thrive on humor and laughing. I hope you do too!
