Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team on a Part-Time basis.
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for various functions in the drug distribution system, sterile and non-sterile product formulation, and ambulatory patient services. All technician functions are performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Essential Functions:
Prepares, organizes, and sends out medication for Emergency Services, OR, Day Surgery, ICU, Med/Surg, and Geri/Psych departments
Fills medication carts for Pharmacist to check
Checks for expired medications throughout the hospital and pharmacy
Maintains Inventory and orders supplies
Fills medication orders for departments in a timely manner
Position Requirements:
Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Preferred Education: Technical college training with certification as Pharmacy Technician
Preferred Professional Experience: Ability to learn and perform all duties required of a hospital Pharmacy Technician
Licensure: Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
Special Requirements:
Eighteen (18) years of age or older
Proficient written, communication, mathematical and listening skills
Proficient time management, priority setting, and organizational skills
Able to perform work accurately with attention to detail
Able to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule
Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.
Work Shift:
Part-Time, .5 FTE
20 hours per week
Scheduled Days: Variable days
Hours: 4 to 8 hours shifts
Scheduled Shift: Monday – Friday, First shift rotating between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm
Every 3rd Weekend, 7:00 am – 2:30 pm
2 Holidays per year (rotating), 7:00 am – 2:30 pm
