Job Title: Carpenter Foreman
Location: Madison, WI and surrounding areas within 50 miles (various jobsite locations)
Pay: $36–$42/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM | 45+ hours per week
Position Overview:
Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Foreman to lead a team of 3–10 carpenters across a variety of construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires expert carpentry skills, strong communication, and the ability to manage teams and workflows to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise carpentry crews on tasks including framing, window and door installation, flooring, trim work, and hardware installation.
Operate site equipment such as forklifts and man lifts (must have proper certification).
Train, mentor, and guide team members to enhance skills and productivity.
Coordinate with superintendents, operations leadership, and other trades to maintain project flow and meet deadlines.
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
Ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are on-site, functional, and used appropriately.
Inspect completed work to confirm quality standards and compliance with applicable building codes.
Conduct daily safety meetings and perform routine site safety inspections.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, and progress logs.
Perform additional duties as required to support overall project success.
Qualifications:
5–7 years of hands-on carpentry experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and industry best practices.
Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents and blueprints.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage deadlines, resolve on-site challenges, and maintain professionalism under pressure.
Solid understanding of construction safety standards and procedures.
Commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required: Valid driver’s license - to drive company vehicle when approved
Preferred: OSHA 30, ACI Certification, First Aid/CPR.
Job Requirements:
Job requires proper use of PPE: Hard hat, safety gloves, work boots, and high-visibility vest.
Must have basic hand tools for carpentry work.
Willing and able to work 45+ hours per week.
