Maintenance Technician

Gorman & Company is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician to work with our team at some of our apartment communities in Madison, WI. As a Maintenance Technician, you will have the opportunity to maintain our community in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition for our residents.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will:

1. Satisfy service requests such as light electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC/PTAC maintenance, etc.

2. Prepare apartments for turn-over, may include painting, appliance repair/replacement, plumbing, lock changes, etc.

3. Manage curb appeal by inspecting and cleaning grounds and buildings.

4. Assist with snow removal if needed.

5. Complete on-call emergency maintenance.

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

1. Must have your own vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

2. Previous maintenance experience required.

3. Mechanical aptitude and experience in servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing a variety of items such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, and standard appliances.

4. Must be able to read work orders / service requests.

5. Good safety habits.

6. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
