AP Specialist

Description Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing client in the recruiting for an AP Specialist to join their home office based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The AP Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our financial records, including reviewing and processing invoices, managing the general ledger, and responding to vendor inquiries. This role is integral in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial department reporting to the Controller. Key Responsibilities

Review and verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy, proper approvals, and compliance with company policies.

Accurately code and enter invoices into the accounts payable system.

Prepare and process payments, including ACH, wire transfers, and checks, ensuring all payments are made within deadlines.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies through communication with vendors and internal teams.

Assist in month-end close by preparing accounts payable reports and journal entries as needed.

Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable records and filing systems.

Respond to vendor inquiries promptly and professionally.

Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.

Support the overall accounting department with additional tasks as requested.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field is preferred.

1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
