AR/Cash Application Specialist

Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous Accounts Receivable Specialist to work in our team based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role involves working in a pet supply organization and requires the incumbent to be proficient in handling cash applications, account analysis, collections, and customer interactions related to accounts receivable. The successful candidate will be expected to work on-site and report to the accounting manager, assisting with general accounting tasks with a special focus on Accounts Receivable.Responsibilities: Accurately processing and verifying incoming cash payments. Applying cash receipts to customer accounts and resolving any discrepancies or queries related to cash applications. Generating reports on accounts receivable status and activities. Tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues. Conducting detailed account research and analysis. Initiating collections on past-due accounts. Interacting with customers to address inquiries and resolve issues related to accounts receivable. Collaborating with the sales team to rectify any billing discrepancies. Performing monthly reconciliation and reporting activities. Ensuring that all transactions comply with financial policies and procedures. Engaging with internal departments such as Sales, Service, and Operations with respect to invoice settlements and payment applications. Utilizing E-21 ERP and Excel software programs for various tasks. Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable Specialist role or similar Proficient in Accounting Principles and Accounts Receivable (AR) Experience with Aged Receivables and Credit Collections Familiarity with Credit - Commercial, Credit Exposure, and Credit Investigations Proficient in MS Excel Experience with Journal Entries Familiarity with Year End Closings and Month End Close Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organizational and time management skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
