is ON - SITE. FTE: 0.500000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary:To facilitate

culturally and linguistically competent communication between

individuals with Limited English Proficiency(LEP) and medical providers

in a manner that promotes patient safety and confidentiality. Other

duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE : A minimum of one year of experience in

providing medical interpreting in English and the target language is

required. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Three years of directly related

experience. Experience at a Level I Trauma Center.EDUCATION : High

School diploma or equivalent is required. EDUCATION PREFERRED: Associate

Degree or Bachelor Degree in related field. Professional Medical

Interpreter Program.SPECIAL SKILLS : Must be bilingual in English and

language to be interpreted, solid knowledge of medical terminology and

competence in communicating the meaning of terms. Strong ability to

interpret diagnostic processes, treatments, procedures, preventive care,

and be culturally competent Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills

necessary to interact with patients, their families and health care

providers. Ability to perform under stressful situations and medical

emergencies. Ability to produce written translation of material, such

as: various forms, documents, patient letters and other material.

SPECIAL SKILLS PREFERRED: Formal interpreter training. 40 hour medical

interpretation training program. CCHI or NBCMI Certification.LICENSURE :
