SOUS CHEF POSITION
La Merenda restaurant is seeking a creative Sous Chef to join our team! You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base and our multicultural menu
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day culinary operations
Coordinate food and kitchenware orders
Check freshness and quality of ingredients
Assist in the development of menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer demand
Standardize recipes and plate presentations
Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
Train new and existing kitchen staff on the preparation, arrangement and plating of dishes
Ensure all staff members adhere to culinary standards and regulations
Respond to customer inquiries and concerns when necessary
Track, record and replenish inventory as needed
Cross-train kitchen staff on multiple stations
Assist lead chef with pricing menu items
Qualifications:
Previous experience in culinary arts, cooking, or other related fields, (3+ years)
Kitchen management experience required (2+years)
Knowledge of cost and labor systems
Passion for food and cooking techniques
Strong leadership qualities
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
