We are BioSource Cultures & Flavors, a biotechnology company/food-manufacturing plant specializing in the fermentation of lactic cultures for probiotic applications. We are looking for full-time (40 hours/week) Production Operators to support our plant operations. This position is a great opportunity to learn a cutting-edge scientific trade in a booming industry. Opportunities are available on 3 shifts (M-F: 7AM – 3:30PM, 3PM – 11:30PM, 11PM – 7:30AM).
Primary responsibilities include:
- Fermentation tank set-up
- Clean in place (CIP) for tanks, centrifuges, liquid nitrogen pelletizers, and other production machinery
- Fermentation media preparation and pouring
- Tank inoculation
- Monitoring and interpreting real-time fermentation data recorders
- Centrifuge operation and control
- Pre-operation sanitary swabs
- Blending and packaging
- Facility sanitation
- Chemical handling
- Accurate and timely production documentation
- Monitoring and interpreting real-time fermentation data recorders
- Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points plan (HAACP) and safe food handling
- Lab skills:
o Gram staining
o Solids testing
o VRB plating
o Water sample plating
o Sample collection
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent
