Job Description
Hours Flexible First/Second Shift Monday-Friday. Paid Sick, Vacation and Holiday after 90 days employment.
Qualifications Preferred:
1. Be at least 18 years old.
2. Have a high school diploma or GED.
3. Early Childhood I and II or Teacher Certificate.
4. Some experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
5. Completed or complete Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect Training (SCAN/MRT) upon hiring.
6. Obtain CPR within 6 months of hire.
7. Current Physical and TB within 30 days of hire.
8. Pass caregiver background check
9. Infant and Toddler class (if working in Infant & Toddler Classroom).
10. School age assistant class (if working in school age classroom)
11. Shaken baby training
12. Complete WMELS and Pyramid training within 12 months of employment
13. Be willing to further education
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Maintain safety, care and nurturing of children at all times.
2. Keep track of children in your care at all times.
3. Treat all of the children with dignity and respect. Concentrating on the child, not their behavior.
4. Maintain confidentiality of the children and families at all times.
5. Relay information to the parents about their childs day.
6. Relay information to co-workers regarding individual childs specific needs.
7. Maintain childs daily sheet
8. Know and follow the centers policies and procedures
9. Know and follow state licensing rules and regulations
10. Work well with fellow co-workers
11. Work well with Management staff
12. Meet yearly continuing education requirements (full-time need 25 hrs. and part-time need 15 hrs.)
13. Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment
14. Interact with children outside
15. Interact with children in classroom
16. Communicate with children at their level
17 Encourage children to be independent
18. Recognize what needs to be done and completes task independently
19. Meal and snack preparation
20. Clean up work and play areas
22. Attend and participate in, in services and staff meetings
22. Focuses on activities that provide the process rather than the product
23. Be willing to transport children to and from school
24. Perform all other duties as assigned
Additional Expectations:
1. Regular attendance minimizing absences
2. Arrive to work on time
3. Able to lift 40 lbs.
