House Supervisor Job Duties and Description

Hours: 6:30AM until 3:30PM Monday thru Thursday and one mandatory weekend day. This totals out to 45 hours per week. Every Friday morning at 10:00AM there is a mandatory staff meeting that you must attend.

Pay: $450 weekly/base pay. You will receive $11 incentive pay for any hours worked extending past the 45 hours that you are already scheduled for. You will be paid on a bi-weekly basis as an employee of Open Arms Assisted Living with taxes taken out as legally required.

Job Duties:

Arrive to assigned home at 6:30AM to check that the third shift duties have been completed. Get a recap from the previous night’s resident assistant. If the third shift duties have not been completed you must do them yourself and get in contact with the house manager to arrange for the third shift resident assistant to be written up for insubordination and not doing their job.

Stay at assigned home until 3:30PM to ensure that the second shift receives any directions or instructions from you. Also complete any two-person jobs that you were unable to finish during the first shift, or that the second shift resident assistant may not be able to complete single-handedly that night during their shift.

Verify that garbage cans come out every single week

Answer any resident care questions that a new hire, or a veteran hire may have. Your job is to guide the resident assistants properly, and set a great example for them so that our residents are well taken care of.

Ensure that the house is cleaned daily, and ready for inspection by the State of Wisconsin at any given time.

Verify resident care daily: Make sure that our residents don’t have any infections of any sort, no bed wounds, no sores in their mouth or on any area of their body.

Always make sure that the resident assistants in the house are following the shower and grooming schedule for the residents. This means that each day every resident in the home is getting their teeth brushed, hair combed, facial hair trimmed (men AND women), and that they are being bathed/showered on a regular basis.

Communicate with the house managers or the front desk receptionist about the residents’ doctor appointments so you are aware of who will be in or out of the house on that particular day.

Terms and Conditions: As a house supervisor you must be willing to stay for second shift in the matter that the following resident assistant doesn’t come to work. If the scheduled resident assistant does not come in by 3:30pm to relieve you, you will be required to stay for another shift resulting in a 16 hour work day. You will receive the $11.00 incentive pay mentioned above when you stay for second shift.

A name-tag/company badge must be worn at all times during the time period that you are on the clock.

You must wear a burgundy or maroon scrub top and grey scrub pants to every single shift you work. These are the TWO and only colors of the Open Arms Assisted Living Uniform. There are absolutely no exceptions to be made to the work uniform under any circumstances. Healthcare approved footwear is acceptable (Tennis shoes, crocs, no-slip shoes.) Nothing open toed, nothing with heels, and absolutely no slides are to be worn upon the house supervisors feet. This sets a bad example if the house supervisor is not wearing the proper uniform.

The house supervisor’s sole responsibility is to set a great example for those who were hired prior to, and those who will be hired after the house supervisor is assigned to a home.

Sign all policies and procedures having to do with caregiver misconduct, confidentiality, sexual harassment, and any other policies or procedures that your direct supervisor deems fit.

You must enroll in 8 hours of continuing education every year that you are employed by Open Arms.
