OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Backend Developer to support a legacy system on the VRE PSES program. This position will be full-time and fully remote.ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes, evaluates, and codes requirements submitted by business unit for the legacy case management application. Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards. Prepares operating instructions, complies documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output of requirements, input of data acquisition, programing techniques, and controls.
Designs and codes applications following specifications using the appropriate tools
Maintains and modifies existing software applications.
Analyzes detailed systems factors, including input and output requirements, information flow, hardware and software requirements, and alternative methods of problem resolution.
Performs modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.
Writes or revises program documentation, operations documentation and user guides in accordance with standards.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's with 2 - 5 years (or commensurate experience)
Demonstrated experience in backend development
Experience with C and Oracle
Must be a strong problem solver with the ability to quickly resolve technical and user issues
Must be an excellent oral communicator with good writing and presentation skills
Must be a self-starter with demonstrable initiative and follow through skills
Must be highly analytical and possess proven problem-solving abilities
Must be able to conduct independent research to lead or support the resolution of complex questions and issues
Must have full understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
Must have demonstrated experience planning and managing multiple tasks
Must be able to identify/monitor space requirements for Oracle databases in development and production environments
