Join us as we digitally connect the world and shape the future.The RoleWe are seeking a highly experienced legal leader to join our team as Head of Legal for Product, Technology and Marketing. This role will oversee legal support for Lumen’s Product and Technology teams, reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer. This leader will be part of the senior leadership team of the global legal department. The candidate must have a proven track record of managing a product and/or technology legal function in a fast-paced, global technology company. This leader will be a seasoned legal professional, results-oriented, and possesses a strong knowledge of telco and/or technology industry law. This is a unique opportunity to join an established company during a period of transformation and product innovation.The Main Responsibilities

Partner with the Chief Product and Technology Officer to understand customer needs and provide related legal support

Build a dedicated legal function to support the company’s Product and Technology teams, including process and procedures for legal review

Ensure compliance with applicable product and technology regulations, as well as the company’s commercial agreements

Navigate issues related to privacy, security, intellectual property, and other legal considerations

Provide counsel on all relevant legal issues to monitor industry trends and best practices to protect the company from legal risk and reputational harm

Lead and manage a team of highly skilled lawyers, fostering effective relationships within the team

Mentor and identify development opportunities for team members

Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed

Act as a strategic thought partner and provide advice to various functions within Lumen

Oversee the development and implementation of strategies and policies related to risk management

Review and negotiate a wide variety of technology transactions

15+ years of progressive product and technology legal expertise gained from a combination of law firm and in-house legal experience

Proven leadership role at a fast-paced, high-growth, global company

Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

Strategic growth mindset with a hands-on approach, adaptable to changing business environments, driving continuous improvement and innovation

Excellent business acumen with a demonstrated ability to execute outcomes aligned with company strategy

Broad experience in other niche areas of law is a plus
