Job Description SummaryAs an Auburn Manufacturing Associate, you will be assigned to work within teams as a machine operator. As a machine operator you will set-up and operate a variety of machines performing a wide variety of machining operations on aircraft engine turbine blades and other materials, parts and assemblies.Job DescriptionQualifications/Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

2 Years experience in Manufacturing (Machine Operator/Machinist preferred).

Must be invited to attend and successfully pass a state sponsored pre-employment training class for consideration.

Ability to work overtime when required.

Ability to(A) read and interpret blueprints, (B) use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier, calipers, etc. and (C) perform shop math calculations including fraction and decimal equivalents.

Willingness to wear personal protective equipment including safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs and safety shoes, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Ability to utilize a computer and/or other technological equipment as required.

Must be available to for 2nd or 3rd shift.

Must be able to train on a different shift then what is assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

Operators will be assigned to work teams.

Individuals are required to actively participate in teams and committees.

Attendance at team and committee meetings is required.

Individuals will apply this training to work within the teams and constantly strive to improve operation and cycle time. This will include the completion of Kaizen and Lean projects.

Operators will learn to operate every workstation and operation in the facility. Job assignments will be rotated on a daily basis.

Operators will perform complex layout operations to verify part dimensions.

Operators will operate tools and equipment ranging in size from small to large and in complexity from simple to very complicated.

Perform assembly and disassembly of parts as required to machine, and perform other related duties.

Operators will perform other related duties, as necessary.

Desired Characteristics:

Willingness to work at a tobacco free site.

Must be able to work an off shift – either the 2nd shift from 3:15 PM to 11:45 PM

Effective problem identification and solution skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
