JOB SUMMARY:The Licensing Engineer will be responsible for technical licensing reviews and support related to preparation of SNC’s Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) application(s). This includes support for environmental, operational and implementation program development, and licensing basis document maintenance.This position will interface with the NRC, Subsequent License Renewal Application (SLRA) contractors, licensing, engineering, environmental, other major fleet projects, and license renewal implementation teams. This includes support of licensing schedule management activities during SLRA development and in preparation of NRC review and approval.The Licensing Engineer may be expected to prepare and give presentations, support industry groups and organizations, provide licensing expertise to the SLR staff, manage the licensing needs, provide general project management support, and implement licensing and documentation requirement activities as necessary.The level of this position will be determined based on the successful candidate’s existing experience level.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic licensing support to obtain NRC approval of SNC’s SLRA(s)
Interface and develop effective relationships with the NRC staff and other regulatory agencies
Support the SLRA licensing and environmental schedule and other project management activities as requested
Manage assigned project scope and risk mitigation plans
Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders as needed
Provide support for the Fleet Projects organization at various levels
Coordinate the development of licensing products as necessary in support of project needs and review to ensure quality and accuracy
Interface with SLR team and contractor resources to support technical, licensing and environmental needs
Update working procedures, project plans, training materials, and other project documentation and reports as needed
Lead and facilitate designated team meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation Requirements:
BS in Engineering (ABET accredited) or P.E. required; Advanced degree, P.E. and other specialty certifications beneficial
Project Management (PMP) training or certification a plus
Background/Experience Requirements:
Prior nuclear power plant or other related industrial experience
Prior nuclear licensing and/or regulatory compliance experience preferred
10 CFR Part 54, License Renewal Rule and/or 10 CFR Part 51, Environmental Protection Regulations for Domestic Licensing and Related Regulatory Functions experience desirable
Knowledge of Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) or Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design desirable
