Deputy Program Manager

DescriptionSAIC is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team in Huntsville, AL.The Deputy Program Manager (DPM) is responsible for assisting the Program Manager (PM) in managing the execution of a Department of Defense (DoD) program, ensuring that the project meets its objectives on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contractual requirements. The DPM will serve as the secondary point of contact for the program and will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with stakeholders, and support the PM in strategic planning and decision-making.Key Responsibilities:

Program Management Support:

Assist the Program Manager in developing and executing project plans, schedules, and budgets.

Ensure that program objectives, milestones, and deliverables are met according to contractual and DoD requirements.

Manage and coordinate day-to-day program activities, including task assignments, resource allocation, and risk management.

Monitor program performance and make recommendations for adjustments as needed to keep the project on track.

Stakeholder Communication:

Serve as the secondary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including DoD clients, contractors, and subcontractors.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between the program team, stakeholders, and other departments.

Prepare and deliver briefings, reports, and presentations to senior leadership, clients, and other stakeholders.

Financial and Contractual Management:

Assist in managing program finances, including budget tracking, cost control, and financial reporting.

Support the development of proposals, contract modifications, and other documentation required for program execution.

Ensure compliance with all contractual terms, government regulations, and company policies.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks to program success and develop mitigation strategies.

Monitor and report on program risks, issues, and opportunities, escalating to the Program Manager when necessary.

Team Leadership and Development:

Provide leadership and direction to program team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

Support the Program Manager in mentoring and developing program staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to succeed.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure that all program activities comply with DoD standards, regulations, and quality assurance requirements.

Oversee quality control processes to ensure that all deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.

QualificationsEducation Requirements:

Must possess a Bachelors and fifteen (15) years experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).

Required Experience/Skills:

7-10 years of experience in program management, preferably within the defense industry or a government contracting environment.

Demonstrated experience in managing large, complex DoD programs.

Experience in financial management, risk management, and contract management.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in project management tools and software.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Clearance Requirements:

Active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
