Find your future with us.Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Enginee r to join the Quality team located in Huntsville, AL .This position will be supporting the Space Launch Systems (SLS) program at Huntsville Gateway Facility and be responsible for coaching and mentoring junior and peer engineers, supporting management and creating and presenting findings to senior leadership. This position supports non-conformances (NCR) and hardware and test evaluation results. This position will be working in a fast-paced production environment on 1st shift and will require intra-departmental communication and interfacing with customer and suppliers.Successful candidates will 10 or more years of directly related work experience, including a proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives that resulted in measurable quality enhancements.Position Responsibilities:

Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.

Provides interpretation of complex requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.

Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.

Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.

Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.

Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.

Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.

Develops and implements corrective actions.

Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facilityThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

More than 5 years of experience leading stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and development and implementation of preventive or corrective actions

Experience with mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams of junior and peer engineers

More than 5 years of experience in Aerospace manufacturing

More than 5 years of experience interfacing with suppliers

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Master’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

9 or more years of related work experience in quality engineering or closely related aerospace field

ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent certification such as (CQA);(CQT)

Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent certification.

Experience in developing new quality standards and processes.

Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives that resulted in measurable quality enhancements.

Experience in influencing and driving organizational change related to quality management.

Ability to develop and implement long-term quality strategies aligned with organizational objectives.

Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
