Purchasing and Inventory Specialist

We are growing and looking for a full-time Purchasing and Inventory Specialist with integrity and professionalism to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama. Who You are:

What You will be responsible for:

Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software under the direction of the purchasing manager.

Generating and entering purchase orders for technicians and managers.

Perform essential office tasks, including but not limited to data entry and filing.

Ordering of material and supplies for technicians, managers, and office.

Perform inventory of company tools and materials.

Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles.

Updating inventory count and maintaining inventory records to share with management and other stakeholders in the business

Managing inventory by stocking and cataloging products

Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.

Creating and maintain a relationship with vendors including updating current pricing.

Assists with periodic physical inventory audits.

Operates forklift truck when necessary.

Carrying and delivering materials to various locations.

Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.

Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.

Proficient keyboarding skills.

Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.

Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.

Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Able to pass motor vehicle record check.

Knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, and electrical material preferred

Forklift operator certification preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
