He/she will report to the site Environmental Health and Safety Manager. RRMIF is a state of the art explosives factory that focuses on explosives integration, testing, packaging and shipping a multitude of weapons to the war fighter. RRMIF emphasizes mission assurance by encouraging initiative at all levels and manages customer commitments through quality, cost and schedule. The RMD Operations and RRMIF goal is to achieve “No Doubt” solutions and instill confidence in our customers by producing and providing consistently reliable products in a safe and efficient manner.What you will doThe EHS Principal Specialist will perform a variety of technical and business tasks, as well as apply EHS and Explosives Safety and Operations knowledge and experience in support of production and engineering activities. The individual’s responsibilities and tasks listed below are paramount to continue safe and efficient operations, protect people and the environment, prevent a work stoppage, or a slip in schedule, all of which would have a significant impact to program or operational costs and schedule requirements.

Conduct safety audits/inspections on explosives transportation operations and explosive storage magazines to ensure compliance.

Attend Tier II and Tier III meetings to address EHS areas of concern and brief personnel on trending policy changes and mishap information.

Develop and review concept designs, explosive safety site plans, final safety submissions, final design submittals, and hazard analyses for facilities in which explosives or ammunition are utilized.

Conduct explosives storage license inspections with the U. S. Army Aviation Command Safety Office to ensure compliance with magazine courtesy storage agreements.

Organize, coordinate, develop and deliver material at EH&S councils and team meetings.

Participate in facility project meetings to ensure safety and explosives regulatory compliance items are identified for all planned construction projects.

Conduct Contractor Explosives Safety training for all contractors working within close proximity of explosives. Identify all exposure types and potential hazards.

Act as ATF “Responsible Person” ensuring that newly hired individuals transporting, shipping, receiving or possessing explosive materials in the course of employment with Raytheon are vetted and reported to the Federal Explosives Licensing Center (FELC).

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Safety, Environmental, Science, Engineering or other related field of study.

5 years applicable EH&S experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years applicable EH&S experience.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U. S. security clearance. U. S. citizenship is required as only U. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Five year’s experience with DoD or Defense Contractor Explosives Safety policies and procedures such as DoD 4145.26-M, NAVSEA OP 5, DA PAM 385-64, AFI 32-1065 and/or DSER 6055.09AFMAN 91-201.

Experience evaluating explosives and energetics processes to identify risk and mitigate hazards utilizing methodologies such as qualitative, quantitative, generic, site specific or dynamic risk assessments.

Experience providing explosives safety technical assistance and communications to senior management as well as junior and first line leaders.

Experience preparing explosives safety site plans and risk analysis documentation in accordance with DoD 4145.26-M, NAVSEA OP 5, DA PAM 385-64, AFI 32-1065 and/or DSER 6055.09AFMAN 91-201
